The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has provided the updated TNPSC Civil Judge 2023 Syllabus. The candidates who have applied for the exam should refer to the topics mentioned in the TNPSC Civil Judge syllabus while preparing for it. The TNPSC Civil Judge syllabus is a guideline of all the Acts and laws that will be covered in the stages of the selection process. The candidates can get the syllabus as well as the TNPSC Civil Judge Exam pattern followed for each stage on the official website of the Commission. 

 

  • The TNPSC Civil Judge selection process includes three stages, namely, preliminary exam, main exam, and viva voce. 

  • The Commission concluded the preliminary exam last year in November.

  • The preliminary exam will be conducted offline and will include objective type questions. 

  • The main exam has descriptive type questions. It consists of four papers. 

  • There is a negative marking criterion in the preliminary exam only. For a wrong answer, 0.25 marks are deducted in the prelims.

Viva-Voce Syllabus

The object of TNPSC CJ viva-voce test is to assess the suitability of the candidate for the cadre by judging the mental alertness, general knowledge, knowledge of law, grasp of procedural laws and principles of law, clear and logical exposition, balance of judgment, skills, attitude, ethics, power of assimilation, power of communication, character, suitability and intellectual depth, the like of the candidate, his/her tact and ability to handle various situations in the Court, Administrative and Management Skills. 

Since „Character‟ and „Suitability‟ of a Candidate are of utmost importance for 5. being considered, for appointment to the Tamil Nadu State Judicial Services as Civil Judge, the character and suitability of the candidate would be enquired into and verified by the Competent Authority.

TNPSC Civil Judge Exam Pattern 2023

The TNPSC Civil Judge 2023 exam pattern followed for each exam is explained through the points below. one should prepare for the exam according to the exam pattern to score the maximum marks.

Viva-Voce Exam Pattern

  • The viva-voce carries 60 marks.

  • The qualifying marks are 18. 

  • The marks secured by a candidate in the Viva Voce Test shall be added to the total marks secured by him/her in the Main examination.

TNPSC Civil Judge 2023 – Preparation Strategy

The TNPSC Civil Judge exam includes three stages so that each candidate can be thoroughly evaluated. The preparation strategy for each stage should be adapted as per the TNPSC Civil Judge syllabus as well as the exam pattern followed. Include the following points in your exam preparation strategy to ensure that you cover most of the TNPSC Civil Judge syllabus in a limited time.

  • Bare Acts: One should have a thorough understanding of the Bare Acts. You should know the Code of Criminal Procedure Law, Indian Evidence Act, Code of Civil Procedure, and others.
